WHAT IS MATT COOL ?

matt.cool (mat'kool), adj., adv., n. --adj. 1. moderately cool. --adv. 2. Informal. Mattcoolly. --n. 3. something that is mattcool. [After Matthew McDowell (1972-), amateur linguist; 1991: Matt + cool]

Amateur linguist Matthew McDowell has presumed that a man named Luke (whose surname has been lost to the ages) coined and publicized the use of "Lukewarm" to describe the state of moderately warm. Now, Matt has decided to fill the void in English thermal expression left by Luke since late fourteenth century. Matt has proposed "Mattcool" for use by the general English speaking communities and any other language wishing to adopt this new useful word.

Examples of use:

  • This wine is best served mattcool.
  • The mattcool ocean water was perfect for a brisk morning swim.
